POEMS FROM THE FRONT — November 15, 2018, Directed by Kathleen Atkinson
A PERFORMANCE CELEBRATING THE 100th ANNIVERSARY OF ARMISTICE DAY
November 11, 2018 marks the hundredth anniversary of the Armistice that ended the fighting in World War I. To commemorate the occasion, readers will present a selection from the wealth of poetry written by young men and women facing brutal combat and the unprecedented horror that was the Great War. The price of being a war poet was high. At a minimum, it was physical or mental trauma and, at most, a violent death. These young poets offer a range of perspectives, but all speak from direct experience about the suffering, destruction, and death.
